Summary | 0028252: Attacks of Opportunity Against Vehicles Prevents ALL Movement | ||||
Description | If you have a flying vehicle which tries to fly out of combat; thus triggering an attack of opportunity, prevents the player from moving any unit. The attack never happens, the movement gets canceled, and you cannot issue any movement orders on anything, no matter how much AP and Mental Energy you have. I just tried to see if this persists through saves, it does not. Not only that, but if I try to trigger it again with the same unit (the one already being opportunity attacked), it gets hit like it should. I'll attach a save either way, but I can't replicate it with the save (at least not on the same turn). The one triggering the attack of opportunity is the Cutter named "KES Robin." | ||||

After further testing, this seems to come from something else entirely. There are times when units will attack, but the hit won't resolve for some time after. I guess I just ended up finding one where it never resolved at all. It seems most common with player aircraft, and NPC mechs. |

Let's keep an eye on this and see if it becomes repeatable under some particular set of conditions. Thanks |

If you hit F3 and scroll down, you should see this section called Extra Turn-Change Variables. It should have something a bit wrong in there, one of the numbers being 1 instead of 0, when this bug happens. |

I've yet to find any reliable ways to recreate this experience, and it doesn't persist through saves. I'll keep an eye out for when it happens again and throw the performance data and logs here when I notice it. |

Thanks! * When an attack of opportunity is happening, and the shots don't make it to the destination for some reason, the actual after-logic now still happens, rather than stalling the game. ** This was something I could only replicate at lower framerates than 144fps, but at 30 it happens reliably. Step one was fixing the full-stall, step two is fixing the actual bug in projectile movement. |
