Summary0004833: AI Engineer not repairing everything it can
DescriptionIn the attached save, there is an AI engineer that is refusing to repair some ships even though they are whithin the engineers range. The engineer in question is on the planet Killtolci, and is near a wormhole to one of my planets.

I imagine that the issue is that the ships build cost is above the repair threshhold. You have to either do it manually, or increase the value in Controls.

One problem with that theory. I am talking about an AI's engineer.

Ok, I looked at the save, and see no issues with the behavior of the engineer. I am pretty sure zombie ships are immune to being repaired, and I know spire blades are immune. It was repairing the engines on a ship when I started the save, so I am not sure what you are refering to.

One, no, zombie are not immune to repair. In fact, I saw that same engineer repair a different zombie ship flying by, but not the one right next to it.
Two, there was a damaged non-zombie MRLS by the wormhole that the engineer was clearly refusing to repair.

Of course, given the strange bugs that can "fix" themselves when the AI reinitializes from a save game, that engineer may have started working properly after the load. But its hard to tell.

I don't think I've ever seen an AI Engineer repair anything.

I have, but it is very inconsistent.
Part of it is that AI engineers don't go into FRD mode (0003843)

New save with issue. Of interest, this one shows the AI not repairing a merc unit.

Maybe the AI is incorrectly getting a "Don't assist units more expensive than X" cutoff?
